Lessons learned from 7-Eleven?

Boxes and Arrows has published the first in a series of articles that relate Web design to the design of retail shops. It’s very interesting, if some what long, and has some fairly zany ideas.

One of these is the idea of making a user click to get to the really good information. The analogy used here is a convenience store putting the “high traffic items” like milk and bread at the back of the store so you have to walk past many less essential items.

Hmmm. I think that might be a bit of a stretch. But it’s an interesting read anyway.
