McGovern sorts cards.

September 22, 2002 | Comments 0 Comments

I wish I would have read this article by Gerry McGovern on card sorting a month ago.

It has some nice tips on how to conduct a card sorting exercise to help classification, labeling, etc. We did something similar at work, and it came out fairly well - but I think we could have done it better. Next time I guess.

Anyway - it’s a quick read and if you are working on a large site redesign or something new can help you gather good input about how your site might be organized, what is important to your users and stake holders and what you may want to call things. All of which can be a battle, so any advice will help.
