New tunes

Just got some new discs. Some good stuff - I’ve got some new songs posted over on the Flash site as well - for your enjoyment! Ha ha! Here’s what I got:

Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies
Great disc. Period. If you’ve not heard them, they are a very much like the Pogues - with maybe a bit more “punk” in there. It’s the kind of music that I’d blast to get pumped for a day of snowboarding or a relaxing with a pint down at Kells equally.

Doug Martsch - Now You Know.
If you like Built to Spill you’ll enjoy the solo effort of Martsch. It’s a little less rock and a little more blues, with some really great slide guitar work. The songwriting is excellent, as you would expect, and Doug’s distinctive voice slices through it all.

Scapegoat Wax - SWAX
Not so much a follow-up to Okeeblow as it is a “remix” if you will. It has some of the same songs and a few new versions, but don’t let that keep you from picking it up - the new tunes are great. Great rhymes, funky beats and tons of fly attitude. Scapegoat Wax has been one of my favs in the last few years.
