Software and a stuck pixel.

October 07, 2002 | Comments 5 Comments

I’ve not had too much time to get the PowerBook all up and running. Tonight I was able to get a bit of my software all going - I had a run in with a table and chairs (I’m still getting settled at my place - a couch is up next!) and so I just haven’t had time.

I’ve been scouting software - today over at Web-Graphics I found a link to ranchero.com - lots of cool stuff over there.

Tinderbox sounds interesting.

Thanks and mad props to Brian for helping me get the thing all fixed up and configger’d.

Oh - anyone know how to get rid of a lone blue stuck pixel??? If I’m stuck with it I think I’ll name it - Pixel Smurf or something….

I hear lightly rubbing the area can sometimes bring the pixel back from the dead.

Thanks James - I’ll give that a whirl. For the most part the thing is not noticable - but sometimes it’s really distracting.

I am experiencing the same problem with a 15” SuperDrive Powerbook that came in the mail about 4 days ago. I called and asked Apple and they said one is common, and all I have heard is massaging, but that didn’t really help. It’s weird. It flickers and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It sucks. Anyone have any other ideas.

There are reports of fixing a stuck pixel with a video file that flashes Red Green Blue over and over, to “un-stick” the pixel.

I tried it and it didn’t work - but here’s the link - PSP Stuck Pixel Fixer Video
