Yet another interesting technology...XFML

Mark Pilgrim helps to explain what the heck XFML (eXchangable Faceted Metadata Language) is. Like Mark, I’m a visual thinker, I need to see something or play with it to get a clear understanding of how it works.
I’ve been reading about this for a few weeks, and haven’t been able to get my mind around it — but with explanations like Mark’s and this one here — It’s getting clearer.
I can see some really cool applications of XFML. For example. Down at the day job we’ve been talking about a familiy resource area for health and safety type issues that I can see this being a wonderful solution for. I can see FacetMap or some other such application doing pretty close to what we want with XFML. But I’ll need to explore it more. That or have Brian, the Web producer of our team, who is great at researching this kind of thing, do the rest of the leg work for me.
Heh.
What? The project was his idea! Smile.
