Jet Set Radio Future.

February 01, 2003 | Comments 0 Comments

Another Saturday gone to waste playing XBOX. Oh well, it’s not like I want to be outside today anyway. The weather in Seattle this time of year is pure crap.

Anyway, I’ve been hooked on Jet Set Radio Future lately. Man, am I glad I bought an XBOX — JSRF is one of the coolest games I’ve played ever. The graphics are killer and I mean killer. They are probably some of the best I’ve seen. Very stylized, 3d, but cell shaded and very, well, vector. Reminds me of my friend Steve Klock’s stuff, the gameplay like a fun, funky version of Tony Hawk and the music rocks. It’s got great remixes of the Prunes, Cibo Matto and Scapegoat Wax. Fun stuff.

If you have an XBOX do yourself a favor and get this game, you’ll love it — I’d bet you can find it used for cheap. You get to play all sorts of wacky club-kid characters who cruise around a very stylized Tokyo fighting with the cops, tagging buildings with crazy graffiti and battling rival gangs. It’s pretty easy to pick up and most important, really, really fun to play.
