Office Politics and Methodologies.

From UI 7 West’s site: Building an Information Architecture the Adaptive Path Way: An Interview with Indi Young

Nothing too innovative here, but it’s still a nice outline of Adaptive Path’s fairly straightforward yet in-depth process. It’s an overview, but gives you an idea of where they are coming from. Based on thier experience I’m quite sure they know what they are talking about. What’s more interesting, in my mind, than the actual methodology talked about, was the comment about politics, the problems they bring to a Web team and the subsequent link to Groundwork for Project Success By Janice Crotty Fraser.

I don’t think enough can be said about the challenges Web professionals face on a day to day basis based on good old fashioned office politics and the like. Janice talks about some of the common problems and presents some valuable insight and nice ideas for solutions to those problems. I do think that a whole lot of what she says is very much “easier said than done” but she lays some nice groundwork and if nothing else, you’ll get the feeling after reading that your not the only one who has to deal with this stuff.
