LXG Trailer and Screenplay Review.

March 13, 2003 | Comments 0 Comments

So I was over at I Love Everything and I noticed he’d posted a link to the new Hi-Res poster for the upcoming League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie.

Now, I knew there was a movie coming, but that was about it. I didn’t know how close, and who’d been cast, etc. So I did some checking, naturally a bit excited as this is one of my all time favorite comics. I found the trailer, watched it and promptly went and said to myself, “What the Devil?”

It did look kind of cool, but nothing, and I mean, nothing like the comic. Tom Sawyer and Mina with fangs?? WTF? Anyway, after some checking I found a review and breakdown of the script. It’s fairly scathing, and rightly so, not that the changes bother me much. I mean, I have all six of the original comics, and the movie is so far removed from that, I hardly see them related at all.

I don’t really understand the changes, I mean, are American audiences really that hard to please? Anyway as long as they don’t change the comic I’m cool with it.

And hey, it still looks like a pretty cool movie.
