A Case and Petition For PNG

May 22, 2003 | Comments 0 Comments

Zeldman has a great explanation of the benefits of the PNG format, as well as some links to great examples of it’s use. As you may or may not know, PNG support is absent from IE for Windows, and Jeffrey also provides a pointer to a petition to get PNG in there.

I’ve not followed the whole PNG story very much, but after reading the above I have to say my interest in PNG has grown quite a bit. The examples and arguments given by Jeffrey and others show that this is a very powerful format with quite a bit going for it. I guess you learn something new every day.

On another note, I’d like to congratulate Jeffrey and Carrie on their upcoming wedding! Cheers!
