Blogs in The Workplace

Nick gave what I’m sure was a great presentation at Web Design World yesterday called The Why and How of Blogging.
Nick illustrates the basics of blogging and gives some really good examples and ideas of ways businesses and the like can make use of blogs.
As you may know I’m a huge advocate of finding business use for blogging tools and the “act” of blogging. We use Movable Type down on our Intranet at the hospital and there has been great value in it. I’m planning on converting my freelance Web design site to a full on Movable Type implementation, ala [stop] design, and obviously use this site (blog) to drive some traffic over there.
Both the act of blogging and the technology behind it have been a great help to me and my business, not to mention all the benefits I’ve been able to pass on to others. If you’ve written blogs off as something that can only be used for the personal, and thing they have no real business application, it’s time you think again — everyone else is.
