Flash Advertising Comment

July 18, 2003 | Comments 0 Comments

When talking with Gerry the other day he said something about Flash advertising being like a fifth rate television spot. Got me thinking - I very, very rarely sit through commercials. If I’ve already seen it, you can bet I’m changing the channel unless it’s really funny or something.

Now think about those Flash ads you see on the web. Now think about how much easier it is to get away from them. There is no remote to lose, no time to wait to find something interesting. On TV there might not be anything else on, not so the case with the Web. In most cases you can just look elsewhere on the page or click away.

(or turn the computer off)

Makes you wonder a bit.
