ReUSEIT Contest

August 15, 2003 | Comments 0 Comments

Are you like me? Have you ever been to Jakob Nielsen’s UseIt.com and thought, “Geez, for a usability guru, this site is pretty unusable?” Or, maybe you just thought it was plain boring. Either way, nows your chance to give it a make over.

Bob Sawyer from Built For The Future has launched the ReUSEIT challenge. From the Web site:

ReUSEIT is a design challenge for coders, and a coding challenge for designers. Here’s the idea: create a redesign of Jakob Nielsen’s useit.com. Design a usable, intuitive layout and navigation, organize the content with the user in mind, and create an aesthetic which reflects the importance and influence of Nielsen’s work.

Sounds like fun doesn’t it? I almost wish I could enter, but I guess I’ll settle for being a judge (along with great great folks including Dave Shea, Dan Benjamin, Joe Clark and Adam Kalsey). I can’t wait to see all the great work that should come in. This is a big one, and it’s been a long time coming.
