Elf Movie Review

Well, I may be a bit biased, as I can laugh my ass off just looking at Will Ferrell, but I loved Elf. I’m pretty sure you will as well. It’s got a little something for everyone.
Elf is a pretty straight-forward Christmas movie, nothing too original there but, even so, it’s a nice, heartwarming and at times hilarious story. It’s not A Christmas Story but it’s up there as far as classic holiday movies go. One thing it’s not is your typical Saturday Night Live spin-off type film.
The acting is good, and some of the supporting cast is excellent. I particularly liked Ed Asner as a gruff Santa.
What made the film for me was Ferrell’s performance of the human-adopted-by-elves, Buddy. He does a great job and there are quite a few times when he had the audience crying with laughter. There are a few scenes that are nothing short of comic genius.
Frankly there isn’t much to say beyond that. It’s a good movie, perfect for pretty much any audience. If you have kids, you might think of taking the whole family. Elf is one of the rare films that parents and kids alike will equally get a kick out of.
It’s not going to win any Oscars, but Elf is definitely worth the price of admission.

Elf was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Everything was in order, eas to follow, and just…Everything was perfect! The acting, the lights, etc.
It’s one of those I’d like to see over and over. It’ll light up anyone’s day! Elf is for kids and adults. I might go see it again when it’s nearer to Christmas. 2 Thumbs up! It’s worth seeing!

I went to see this with my 3 kids. They are 7,9, and 11. My mom went with us too. We all laughed sooooooo hard. Will Farrell’s face is so full of expression! He was perfect at displaying the emotion of childlike excitement of Christmas. His experiences in NYC were like a child seeing things for the first time! It was soooo good!!!

good. only a one time movie though. maybe 2. i saw it twice and that’s probably all i’ll see. funny mostly. some stuff was just pointless. again, the plot is to help santa to save christmas. oh well, what can we do now…
