Experiment -- Ask Me A Question

I’ve been working on a Movable Type driven FAQ / Q&A engine for this site. I know this has been done on other sites fairly well and I think it can be a useful tool and a fun one as well.

If nothing else I’ll learn something and share it here. I think Movable Type can be used as a good tool for this kind of knowledge share and I’m really curious to see how it works out.

I’m still not 100% sure how it’ll go, but I’ve got the basic functionality all worked out. What I need now is questions if you have them.

If there is anything you’ve ever wanted to ask, about me, this site or anything else, just hit up the “Ask A Question” form and fire away!

As soon as I’ve got a decent body of answers up I’ll make this a permanent feature of the site and see how it goes from there.

A very good idea, especially when you have a bit of traffic. Since my Zen Garden I’ve been getting lots of questions and a lot more traffic. So, I’m also thinking of a adding a FAQ. But I’ll ignore questions like: “How do you build a weblog?” :)

Sounds like a great idea - the first time I saw one of these was on the old a.lifeuncommon.org (sadly gone now). The way Dawn did it was quite innovative and useful, and someday I’d like to do something similar. I’ll try and remember some of the questions I had and send them on a little later. :D

I’ve gotten some great questions, some more serious than others, but all interesting.

I should have the whole section nailed down (at least “beta”) soon. I’m playing around with some different ways to display this stuff and while it’s pretty simple, I still have a few quirks to work out.

Keep them coming.

Vuarnet, I’m not angry, give it a try and don’t worry you’re English is good enough. Hell, I wonder how good mine is at times. ;)
