First Blog Posts and Archives

With the new year coming up I’ve found myself looking back over the past year quite a bit. Today I jumped way back into the past.
One of the great things about blogs and blogging technology is the built in archiving. Today I was looking back though my own archives and I read my first post.
Virgin? So this is my first plunge into the world of blogging. I think it’ll be a good way to hone my writing skills. What you’ll see here at “*” is pretty much whatever I feel like writing about, but I plan on keeping it mostly business. So let’s go.
Much has changed since then. I think my writing has improved quite a bit and my titles are way, way better.
I thought it might be fun to read some first posts from other bloggers. I was right and decided to share. Below are links to some of the posts I read, a few might not be the actual first post, but they’re the first one I could find. It’s really interesting to see how people’s style and content have changed over the years.
It was also interesting and very surprising to see how many folks either didn’t have archives or they were so hard to navigate as to be almost worthless. The reason you don’t see some great authors on this list is because I couldn’t find thier first post. It’s too bad really.
In spite of that — here are a few of the posts. I hope the authors don’t mind me digging around their old content! There’s some good stuff you find in peoples archives.

That’s funny… I wish I had something more profound to say on my first post. But, maybe that’s the point.
I love the Internet Archive, but it’s not always perfect.

Ahh, well, my first post actually implicates the otherwise innocent… I’ll give you the URL, but I’ll have to have you kill your browser cach after you view it.
