What was the inspiration behind the domain name 7nights.com?

Well, to be honest, it wasn’t that well thought-out. It was back in the mid-90’s, say 1995 or so, when I started brainstorming a name for my Web site and freelance design business.
This was before I had a “real” job as a Web professional and I felt that I needed to have a Web presence to get people to take me seriously. All of the domain names I really wanted had been taken so I just decided to start throwing names out there and see if something stuck.
I wanted not only a name, but something I could use for an inspiration for my first personal design. I know, that is a bit backwards, but at the time I didn’t know any better.
I chose 7nights.com because it gave me a fairly open metaphor to work with and I figured that since it began with the number “7” it would show up first in search engines and domain lists. Bonus right?
Anyway, it just kind of stuck and now it’s where old friends and coworkers come to look for me. I’m pretty sure I’ll keep it around, at least for the time being.
