Why does 7nights.com redirect?

December 04, 2003 | Comments Closed

Summary: Ok, this may be a silly question but I want to know why when I type in 7nights.com it redirects me to your Asterisk* blog, why not make the blog your home page without any redirects?

From Nick Finck

Well, mostly because I’m lazy and don’t have time to move everything around so that Asterisk* sits in that main directory.

Asterisk* was an addition to an already extensive site, and when I created it something else lived in that main directory. Since all of my Movable Type settings, my archives and support files lived in the Asterisk* directory and most of the links, etc. are coded with /asterisk/ as the root for those, I decided it would be much, much easier to just redirect the root directory to /asterisk/.

Now I’m no systems admin, but I imagine there is a better way to do this, I’m just too busy (too lazy) to look into it.
