Whistler -- The Mountain

The Mountain

I love Whistler. I try and get up there two or three times a year for some amazing snowboarding and probably the best nightlife this side of Vegas.

This last time I began looking into something I’ve been thinking about for awhile — buying a condo up there. It’s actually much more affordable than I’d imagined. For about $300,000 Canadian I could get a nice studio in the village. With Whistler being so popular and with the 2010 Olympics coming up I feel like not only would it be great fun, it’d also be a great investment.

At the moment I’m looking into all the little details. I think I’m going to hook up with my brother and maybe a friend or two and see about going in on a great place. There are lots of details to work out, but I think it’ll get done.

Things usually happen when I put my mind to something and I’m putting my mind to this.

If you’ve never been to Whistler, I can’t recommend it enough. It is the best all around ski resort I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to quite a few.

Have you ever been to Sugarloaf, ME? And if so, how does or can Whistler compare?

I’ve never been to Sugarloaf. I have been to just about all the resorts in Colorado (Keystone, Vail, Aspen, etc.) and I’ve been to other well regarded resorts like Sun Valley and Heavenly.

They’re all great, but Whistler tops them all in my opinion. It’s just got everything you’d want. A quaint village, great nightlife, an awesome mix of friendly people from all over the world and some amazing skiing and snowboarding on some wonderfully huge mountains.

Argh, all these makes me mountain- and ski-sick. There’s a beautiful winter there, on south of Poland. Pity, I won’t get even a single day off :-(

BTW: great picture. You took it?

Great picture. :) I’ve been to Keystone and Breckenridge in Colorado (I think they’re both Vail resorts), and they’re pretty nice. Especially if you can rent a condo right next to the slopes.
