How does the "playing in iTunes" feature work?

March 05, 2004 | Comments 1 Comments

From lots of people, most recently Jeremy Flint.

I use a little program called Kung Tunes to achieve this.

It’s pretty simple really. Kung-Tunes uploads a small php file to my site every-time a track changes in iTunes. I’ve got control over the display and code of this file so I use it to link the song to an iTunes search and the album and artist to Amazon.

It also uploads a file that lists the last 15 songs played. I’ve yet to add this to the site.

It’s pretty easy to install and use, however it is for Mac only. I’m not sure if there is a Windows version forthcoming or if there is another program that does the same thing.

I guess it’s just another good, if small, reason to switch to a Mac!

It’s amazing! I don’t listen your style of music, but I’m very interested in this feature. Mac only – what a shame! :)
