My initial reaction was kind of funny, I couldn’t help but look at that guys crotch. I thought, “wow, that looks kind of painful!”

Well, I thought it was a bit weird that they used packaging tape to tape this poster. Then I realized it’s on a dumpster (or so it seems) which seems even more random, and to add to the fact - the dumpster is completely clean. But then again, maybe it’s not a dumpster at all.

It makes me feel uncomfortable. I feel the man is going to fall, and the crowd wont break his fall.

I can get past the headline.
“Regime Change?” What is it implying, Is it just a punk flyer or is there some deeper paralel with the current political climate. The question mark leaves me wanting an explanation.

Colour clash initially not working but becoming more familiar with time. Healthy punk attitude seems suitable at this time of possible electoral misshap. Dumpster or base of lawnmower matters little, sentiment valid.

I wonder if this guy is stagediving or falling down. At least I’d jump in a different way if I were stagediving (but I’d also rather write this in German so that everyone understands me ;)).
I also have to admit that I didn’t even recognize the green whatever where they pinned that image. I was totally focuse on the image instead of the surrounding and just found out about it when I started reading the other comments.
The heading „regime change“ didn’t get through to me either. I was just looking at that guy, wondering what he is doing there and if the crowd is going to ‘catch’ him.

Ah, could it be that this guy is thrown out of the regime. I mean the crowd just came to overthrow the regime or so..?

My immediate reaction was that it was a poster from an anti-Bush rally. This was probably because of the “I support a US regime change” bumper stickers I see around town.
It definitely evoked political thoughts.

Instantly reminded me of those mindless 14 year olds you see wandering around town wearing shirts with Che Guevara’s face plastered all over them. Congratulations, you have no idea about what he did, or what he stood for. But hey, you’re not going to let that get in the way of looking trendy and exciting, huh!
So first thoughts - Oh no, more mindless “marxism is hip!” kiddies.

What that picture says to me is, punk rock has been at a standstill for fuckin years now, stage diving is TEH GAY, and in order to revive punk FAWKIN rock, we need a regime change:
In order words, spike Green Days beer with cyanide.

I saw the jumper (but not the crowd) first and then the words REGIME CHANGE. Then I saw the crowd and thought punk show, election? That was my initial reaction, then after staring for a few more seconds, I noticed that the stars are positioned and sized in a way so that they appear to be coming out of the jumping dude’s hand, kind of feels a little Rainbow Bright to me.

Curious, I wonder if the sticker is posted on a Garbage Dumpster. I feel the odd juxtposition between the high energy of the sticker, and the fact that it may be pasted on a dumpster, or object for collecting waste.
I want more visual input, not enough context to try and see if this is just some kid slaping stickers or if someone wanted to make a statement. Or, maybe something totaly else entirely.

I like the green. Sort of. It’s not the friendly “GO” green of traffic lights, but more the getting something done green that industry uses to cover up its inherent non-greenness. So in a way, it’s a green disguise, disguising all that is not green. It mocks us, pointing out the futility of our existence with it’s overly cheerful super-saturated green. Either that, or it’s something plastic.
I’m not sure what is happening in the photo, except that it looks noisy and crowded. It makes me want to be home, not there. I wonder which regime needs changing. I know a few folks in the photo could use a shower and a change of clothing. If it’s a political statement, it’s a poor one. It doesn’t communicate to me at all, nor does it draw me in with empathy, nor does it make me want to act out of anger. It falls flat on every emotional response except repulsiveness. I wish to be away from it.

Looks like one of Charles Peterson’s photographs of the Seattle music scene from the late 80’s. It’s great to think about that moment showing up again 15 years later. Kinda like the Bengals being on Monday Night Football again.
