Graffiti

Today, while walking down to Husky Stadium, I decided to take a few pictures. I didn’t get much of interest, although for those who are interested in that stuff I got a picture of myself to add to my about page, and I did get this interesting shot of some graffiti I came across.

Graffiti, urban art and found typography are always a great source of inspiration. One of these days I’m going to have to take a day just wandering the city for bits like this.

Keith, I myself am an avid fan of street art and I find it a wonderful source of inspiration as well. Sometimes I just walk to train yards to see all the wonderful artwork painted on the freights. I made a related post in my blog a while ago about extracting color schemes from graf art. The best thing about anonymous public art – no copyrights! :).

Hey sexy. Nice picture! HAHA.

Honestly, I thought you were MUCH older. Surprise, surprise.

I am a big fan of urban artwork. I luv driving through the city, I live in San Diego, just taking it all in. We’ve got lots of construction and I find the lines and unfinished architecture really inspiring as well. Keep taking pictures and sharing them…

I’m a big fan of street art as well, especially the metaphoric or political sort. Spray paint isn’t an easy medium to work with, and these guys are masters.

I remember seeing you previously in a picture you posted a while back (you and your brothers, I think), but I didn’t know which one you were. :P

It’s funny you post that picture. I walk by that every day when I go to campus for class and work. Oh, yeah, how about those Huskies?

If you want to see something cool, I highly recommend taking a look at the street art on Campus Parkway between Brooklyn Ave and Eastlake Ave. There is some pretty amazing stuff panted on the street walls and in the underpass. There was an article in the Times (I think–might have been PI) about removing some of it because the city found it might contain gang signs. I really hope that they don’t because I think that it adds a lot of character to the streets.

Ryan – Let’s just say basketball season is too far away.

Joshua – Really? Did you picture me Indian, Latino, Asian, or? Anyway, I start my new job on the 27th.

Nice to eventually see your picture Keith… isn’t it interesting to hear feedback from people regarding their preconceptions about you?

Wow. You look a lot younger in this picture than in your Design Eye For The Usability Guy picture. Dunno… maybe it’s the smile?
