New Job

October 13, 2004 | Comments Closed

I’ve been really busy the last few weeks, and one of the more exciting things I’ve been up to is going through the process of getting a new job!

Yes, I’m somewhat sad, yet extremely excited to be leaving my job at Children’s Hospital Seattle for an absolutely wonderful opportunity with Phinney Bischoff Design House.

I’ll be leaving a great team at Children’s, but in the process I’ll be joining forces with a whole bunch of talented people in what I hope to be a big step forward in my career. PBDH is regarded as one of the leading design, interactive, marketing and branding firms in the country and I’m stoked be part of their team.

The Details

I’ll be working as a Web Producer (/IA/Project Manager/etc.) in their talented interactive and Web department. (Some of you might have heard of Geoffrey Smith who is a semi-regular here and who will be one of my team members.) I’ll be working on all sorts of great projects with a whole host of amazing clients.

I can’t wait.

I imagine things will change here at Asterisk a bit. For example, the topics I talk about will probably shift a bit and as I’ll be totally engaged with numerous projects I imagine I’ll be posting a bit less often (and probably less in-depth (ahem, wordy) as well, and I’m sure some of you will appreciate that!) as well.

I’m also no longer accepting freelance work. This is more a personal decision to free up my free time as well as letting me focus on helping PBDH grow.

Also, as I’m leaving Children’s, not only am I leaving a great team and organization, I’m leaving a bit of a gap. I’m not sure of all the details, but if you are a Web designer (with an online portfolio preferably) looking for a great job, with a great team

I don’t have many details yet, but it’s probably not going to be an entry level job and I’m sure a solid knowledge of Web standards, CSS, usability, IA and all that goes with best practice in Web design will be a must.
