Free Blog Design Update

Awhile back I’d planned on donating one of my designs to whomever wanted to make use of it. That was before my life got a bit more complicated and I started to have less and less free time. I get asked about this quite a bit and I figured it was time to update y’all as to the status of the “Blue Blog”…
First the sad news. I’m not going to be able to work on this anytime soon. Well, probably “ever” really. The design, as a comp anyway, is done and I had begun breaking it up into pieces, both XHTML and Photoshop, but I just don’t have any time and/or brain power to devote to it.
Now, the (potential) good news. I’d be willing to hand this off to someone who is willing to take it forward. All I ask in return is that whoever takes it makes good use of it and gives me credit for the original design and my photo illustration. I’d be interested in giving it to a Web designer who knows his or her stuff and someone I thought could pick this up where I left off.
If you’re interested, read the original post to get an idea about what I wanted to do, let me know and I’ll get back to you. Hopefully someone will still be able to use this.

Hey Keith, I know how you feel – just think, you still have time to blog every so often ;)
I’d be willing to complete whatever work you’ve already done on the XHTML/CSS, so there would be a basic template for others to then convert into templates for WordPress, MT, etc. I realize that’s not a complete takeover of the project, but it would be my little contribution, and I’d be happy to spend my time on it :)
I hope all is going well otherwise! I know how demanding one’s personal life can become sometimes…

I could surely use the graphics. I have the programming skills required to code the XHTML and layout. I’m not a designer, though.

Erik – Typo fixed, thanks…thats what I get for trying to do 10 things at once.
Dan – I’ll zip up what I’ve got and send it to you later today. Since you asked first, and I know you can do it, you’re in! ;) And thanks, anything you can do would be helpful to folks I’m sure.

I’d be willing to give Dan a hand converting the comp to a Wordpress template. I’ve been looking for a new project to work on.

I can help you out with finalising the XHTML / CSS if you want, though I suspect that you will have no shortage of volunteers :)

Hi, I’m an sort of web design novice but I’m pretty good handling websites and I’m thinking I need a new look for my blog (see link.) I really like what you’ve done here and I am very interested in taking it on. Thanks.

Glad to see volunteers combining their effort on this spectacular work of pixel art and design. :)
What is the status thus far; Has anyone completed it yet?
