They’re starting to announce bands for SXSW and it’s shaping up to be another amazing line up. Here are a few of the many artists that have been announced and that I’m excited to check out:
- The Music
- Futureheads
- Dogs Die In Hot Cars
- Kasabian
- Idlewild (YEAH! — just found this out)
- Death From Above 1979
- The Dears (saw them last year, they were awesome)
- The Hold Steady
- Billy Idol (!!!)
- The Donnas
- Hot Hot Heat
- Saul Williams
- Sleater Kinney
- O.A.R.
Looking real good so far. Can’t wait to see who joins this list!

Living in Austin, you’d think I would go. However, being unable to drive and not having a bank account tends to make this tough.
I love Austin - we are so the live music capital of the world!

I believe it was in the latest edition of Classic Rock where I read that Billy Idol is writing music for his comeback. Supposedly he’s clean from his habbits now.
Oh yeah, by the way, why don’t we get all these cool “festivals” here in Europe? Is this some kind of punishment for us having all the great metal summer festivals?

Good to see Idlewild there. Staying in Glasgow, i’ve seen them more times than i’d like to count but still always go when they announce new dates. Great live band

WoW. O.A.R. has got to be my most favorite band, ever. I have been listening to those guys for about 3-4 years now and I can listen to them all day and night. They have such diverse backgrounds and that makes their music so awesome. Everyone should check out their website at http://www.ofarevolution.com to hear some of their music. They’re hot.

And if you don’t know them, check out Kasabian. They’re great, and ploughing a slightly different line to a lot of the other current rock bands on that list.
