My Free Mini Mac

I realize some people hate this stuff, but my free Mini Mac came today and I’m excited. This little guy is actually more powerful than my Powerbook! And yeah, it’s very old and I need a new one. Hopefully soon.

Anyway, it really was pretty painless. I did the GameFly offer and I’m really happy with that also. So hey, it’s not all crap you don’t want.

So, for those of you who are interested in this free stuff stuff, I went ahead and signed up for a free flat screen and a desktop PC, you know I could use those for testing. I still need some people if you want to help out, if not, hey, no worries.

How did you manage to refer 11 people?! I never even gave this stuff a chance because it seems so unbelievable…

Being the web-savvy writer you are, shouldn’t it be Mac Mini, not Mini Mac? (I know the offer site makes this error, but you’re above those guys!)

For shame, Keith!

Really, I’m just jealous. I could never get 11 people to sign up on those sites.

I’ve been tempted to do one of those offers things (I signed up for the free ipod one) but I can’t seem to find an offer that I want to do… None of them are anything I’m interested in (plus I have no money, so if I accidently forget to cancel a subscription to something, I’m screwed). Plus, finding the other people to do the offer… Yeah, that’s a failed proposition for me right there.

Hans – I know it’s Mac Mini! Gimme some credit! :) But, yeah, the site calls it Mini Mac so that’s what I went with.

Mike – I bet you could do it. Afterall it must work or they’d have given up long ago.

nikkiana – Yeah, that’s the worst part, trying to find something to try out that you’ll either actually like or be able to get out of. For me, I’ve actually liked a few things I tried so it’s worked out. But, hey, I totally understand how some people wouldn’t want to bother. I guess my real downfall was that it actually worked. Now I’m hooked…

I actually crapped out on the iPod Photo offer after referring 5 out of 10 people (at the time). A lot of it was because I too suffer from the inabiliity to find an offer I am moderatly interested in. It seems any thing they have to offer that I would be interested in; I am already a member to.

Plus I realized I was breaking my own motto, “if you can’t afford it you don’t need it.” So I went out and paid cash for it.

But that is how those sites are able to stay in business. They know most people will never get X amount of referals, and you are likely to give up before you even start :/

Anyhow let us know your opinion of the Mini. I’ve been contemplating getting one for some time, but it seems a lot of un-expected expenses have been coming up (I’m a male, so that of course means I was born with the inability to remember birthdays, aniversaries, holidays, etc. so they were un-expected for me). Regardless I am interested in hearing what people have to say about sh*t they buy. That’s right; your stuff is sh*t and my sh*t is stuff!

Oh, I laughed when I set up my Mom’s mini and then told her it was faster than my laptop. Of course I have a Gig of RAM…

Congratulations Keith, I’m glad it worked for you.

I’d be curious to know how the Gamefly thing turns out for you.

I was a member a year or so ago, but I got too frustrated with the fact that they don’t include the manuals. Today’s games (at least the ones I’m playing) are way too confusing w/o the manual.

Yes, I know there are walkthroughs all over the Web, but it’s not the same.

However, I recently got a PSP and was thinking of rejoining to try out a bunch of games on that. So far I’ve played Untold Legends (booooring!) and Lumines (cool for a Tetris-inspired game.)

Let me know if Gamefly ever starts posting PDF’s of the manuals…

Your really lucky to even be able to take part in these offers. Everyone who doesn’t live in the united states is for some reason unable to take part in these offers.

It really pleases me to see someone (that I don’t feel is just a prop to make it seem that this thing works) actually get one of these freebies. I tried the ipod before but was sort of screwed over because I actually referred friends that signed up while they were at my house so they flagged the account as fraud (IP I guess). Lesson learned there though…
Anyway, congrats! Maybe I’ll try one (or maybe both) of those offers you have up there to both get you going as well as giving the process another go. :)

Congratulations Keith,

I remember you posted the request in Feb for people willing to sign up. At the time it was a mixed reaction and you closed off comments after a day but I am glad that at least 11 of your readers/friends signed up for you. (I couldn’t as I’m in Japan)

Good luck with the other offers!

Glad to hear it worked out for you, as I’m attempting to get a free Mac Mini myself. I didn’t want a subscription to anything (having been nailed by those Columbia House/BMG deals more than once as a teenager), so I just got some cheap ink jet cartridges. And, hey, they even work.

Now if only I could convince a few people that signing up for these offers doesn’t mean selling your soul…

Yay! Somebody else that finally got one too! I got mine a few weeks ago. If you need any help with resources or anything, let me know. I’m a pretty seasoned free stuff guy.
