WebVisions 2005 Round-Up

July 18, 2005 | Comments 3 Comments

As it was last year WebVisions proved to be a great event. Brad and his staff did a great job organizing and keeping everything running smoothly. The sessions seemed to be good and our Future of Content panel, while it didn’t go exactly as planned and I felt we could have used another few hours, was interesting and kept me thinking well after we were done.

Since I’m kinda swamped at the moment (my life is extremely complicated right now — in a good way) I’m just going to give a few shout-outs and a quick recap of highlights.

WebVisions 2005 Highlights & Notes

  • BJ Fogg’s talk was great. Pretty much made the conference for me. I love his way of thinking and I can really buy into his idea of “radical simplicity.” Thanks Will for the notes.
  • I love Hotel Lucia. Friendly staff, great sense of design & very nice rooms.
  • I’m bummed I missed Cameron’s presentation. But it was cool to chat and we’ll hopefully mix it up again at SXSW. Cameron’s a great guy.
  • Thanks Molly, but as much as I loooove hanging out with you, if I never see another shot of Ouzo I’ll be perfectly happy. The hangover was worth it but just barely. The wrap party was great fun though.
  • Was great to see Bryght guys Kris and Will. I’ve had a few inquiries about a Bryght gal shirt…I know a few hotties who want one.
  • Dinner and beers with Byron and Bennish was fun, as always.
  • Talking about podcasting and more with Eric and Greg was great fun and very interesting.
  • As always was nice to see my Seattle geek buddies; Matt, Nick and Lee.
  • Wish I had another day to chat with all the new folks I met and old acquaintances I didn’t have much time to spend with.
  • Wish I had another day to catch up with a few people I didn’t get a chance to meet.
  • Taking the train was a great move. Trains rule.

For a small one-day conference WebVisions is really a great deal. Cool location, cool people and lots to learn and do.

Ha! I’m with you on that Ouzo thing, Keith. I think that stuff is seriously dangerous. Oh, but we did have fun ;-)
