The craziness is over! Ok, it’s almost over. 2005 has been the most eventful, stressful, fun and just plain crazy year of my life. The holidays were the perfect end. Being all of the above all packed into three weeks—and I’m still not to a point where I can relax.
Ahhhh, but it’s all good. I’m just now sitting down to set some goals and make some plans for 2006. I thought I’d share ‘em with y’all.

Good luck on your journey in 2006. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I hope you make time to flesh these out completely for yourself, so the greatness within you shines through and is shared with those around you.
Here’s to your continued success. While I admittedly would love to read more blog postings, I understand your distinction, and hope you find what you are looking for!

Lower back problems, eh? Strength training? Check this out:
Yoga appears to be more effective for low back pain than conventional exercise or getting a self-care book about the condition, according to a first-of-its-kind study conducted by researchers at Group Health Cooperative’s Center for Health Studies and published in the December 20 issue of Annals of Internal Medicine.
Good luck in 2006 and I look forward to reading more from you–thanks for everything so far :)

Getting in better shape is a very smart decision – something one keeps forgetting about, until it’s too late. Mind cannot function without the body and when you’re not feeling well, creativity suffers.

… how about adding in: Create a project scoping checklist and publish it to your blog … ok thats one of my requests but it sure would help the industry out if someone established some simple proceedure

I’ll be honest. Asterisk was my first favorite Web standards related blog and I miss the glory days around here. But I am equally as happy that you’ve hit your stride, Keith. Best of luck in 2006!

Surely others could leap in and help out on To-Done? A group of contributors maybe?
Ohh and nice redesign on Blue Flavor… I’ll presume the grey people is coincidence (as they have heads) and not a rip on my stellar and totally leet new site www.onemandesigns.co.uk (yes I have no shame!!! and yes I’m kidding, umm.. you guys hiring?? ;-) )
All the best for 2006. I think a lot of people are ramping up for big things this year.

Allan and Adam – I think my gym has both, so I’ll give ‘em both a try. Been thinking about Yoga for a bit now.
Mark – I’ll see what I can do.
Steve – Don’t worry, I’ll be blogging more at Blue Flavored, so you can read
me there.
Gordon – I just lined up some help for To-Done. So not to worry. And, I love the headless guy, even though I’d never seen ‘em till just now. ;0)

I couldn’t resist the urge to suggest NetworthIQ (http://www.networthiq.com) to help you keep track of your saving money goal. Good luck!

Great set of goals you’ve set for yourself Keith! Sometimes in order to achieve what we want out of life, it’s best to write them down and step back to analyze our end goal and progression. I’ll develop my very own goals and I’ll borrow some of yours if you don’t mind.

A designer friend of mine swears by yoga and has me starting on it. My lower back has been bothering me since the summer and I’m hoping it will help. Good luck on your end, my friend.

What an amazing year Keith. I think your goals are centered for someone who is married, just bought a house, and is starting a business. As much as I like your site To-Done (It won an honorable mention on my blog for exceptional design) I think you can incorporate that content here on Asterisk.
I had the goal last year (after seeing your successful blog network) of creating and maintaining 5 or 6 blogs. I realized quickly that I have enough trouble keeping two blogs updated that 5 or 6 would be suicide.
I think the keyword is balance and for 2006 your focus should be on your family and your business!
Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration to many people!
John

Good luck attaining your goals in 2006. And, what a coincidence, we share many of the same – more exercise, more reading, more writing, more exploring, more saving. Here’s to more in 2006!

Congratulations on setting your new goals. In order to better achieve them I suggest that you have clear and well-defined targets so that you will achieve them. The more clear and defined your goals are the easier it will be for you to achieve the success you want.
I agree with Joshua’s comment of reading the book: Richest Man in Babylon. It is an excellent book to help you with your savings. I suggest that you get a copy of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill as well. The unabridged version is better. This book will help you move in the right direction to obtain the goals you set out.
To Your Success,
Andy Fuehl

Nice set of goals, Keith. Balance is the key to finding success in your goals. And you are pretty much on the right path to attaining them.
Speaking of lower back pain, I agreed with everyone in regarding to trying yoga. You may also want to try some martial art classes because it really pushes you to work your mind and body.
Good luck in 2006!

Having been regularly (way too much sometimes) using a computer since I was around 10, I’ve had some back and a LOT of shoulder problems always. About a year and a half ago I started doing yoga at my gym 3 times a week, replacing most of my weight lifting. The immediate benifit was amazing, withing only a couple weeks my shoulders opened up a lot, and my back felt much stronger. I highly recommend yoga now to anyone and everyone who asks, especially anyone who sits at a computer for long periods of time. The only warning I offer is that you may, like me, get addicted.
